Advanced job search
Identifying the right roles, opportunities and companies to fully leverage your background and experience.
The question worth asking
Are you sure that you are targeting the right roles to maximise your chances?
After nearly thirty years in executive search, I am often surprised by senior candidates who are convinced they fit roles that clearly do not match their experience or seniority.
What is usually missing is product/market fit: the alignment between what you offer and what an employer is genuinely seeking. Time spent chasing roles that are not right for you is not only time lost, but it can make you needlessly despondent. Matching your background and experience to the right roles for you strongly increases your chances of being invited in for interview.
This is why so many senior candidates hear nothing back at all. I have written more on why that silence happens and what to do about it in The wall of silence.

Four areas of focus
My experience encompasses the entire career funnel, from identifying the right roles to apply for, all the way through to the interview.
Learn how to segment industries and understand internal functions, so that you can maximise your leverage and map your own skills onto what the employer is seeking.
Learn where your skills fit within your target employers. The aim is near-perfect match quality, so that it becomes evident you are right for the role.
For example: a VP at a start-up may actually be given a director title at a larger corporate.
Another common pattern: having been C-suite at a 50-person company, you may now be applying for a VP role at a 400-person company, or a Senior Director role at a 5,000-person company. This is a particular strength of mine: positioning your CV so that it is not screened out at first read for being ostensibly 'too senior'.
What is hidden inside the language of a job spec? Which requirements are nice-to-haves and which are prerequisites? Will you make the grade if you have all of the nice-to-haves yet none of the prerequisites?
The easy way to network to find your next role, without leaving the comfort of your own desk. This is one of the most requested parts of my coaching and one I keep largely for clients. Book a discovery call and I will share how it works.
